Hello and hey to the pumpkins that spice up my day a latte! 🎃 How are you doing? Ready to be terrified for your life??….if not then don’t despair, this post is just a way of leading you in that general direction. There’s still time to decide if it’s really what you want! 👻 (And even then you know I wouldn’t be writing about stuff that’s actually scary so you’re grand 🙌😂). Today I’m going to share a list of some of the creepy films available to watch on Disney+ ✨. Honestly, I haven’t seen a lot of these yet so this is basically my plan-to-watch list whether they’re old favourites or not! I can’t wait to get lost in them all (they seem to be on my level of what is tolerable for horrors – AKA not really horrors at all 🤣). Let’s skele-run through these! 🦴
Disclaimer: This post is in not sponsored at all, I just want to share some of the stuff on offer for Halloween!
Inspired by the writings of R.L. Stine, “Just Beyond” is an eight-episode anthology series that tells astonishing and thought-provoking stories of a reality just beyond the one we know. Each episode introduces viewers to a new cast of characters who must go on a surprising journey of self-discovery in a supernatural world of witches, aliens, ghosts and parallel universes.
Stine, prolific author of young-adult horror fiction, including the “Goosebumps” and “Fear Street” series, has been scaring readers worldwide for over 35 years. The show’s creators referenced his popular page-turners while developing their new series of hair-raising stories. Episodes acknowledge teenage struggles, such as bullying, peer pressure and anxiety, through supernatural storylines that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
This looks so cool! When it came up on the Disney+ homepage I was like “what do we have here then?” and it immediately got put on my watchlist! It comes across as having just the right amount of spook to keep me watching but not enough to have me running off in the opposite direction! (Even if I do end up going on my merry way I’ll have the rest of this list to rely on so I still feel like I’m winning 😏🤣).
Scrolling swiftly past American Horror Story which they have on Disney+ too if you’re interested (I’m NOT 😰).
You’re in for a devil of a time when three outlandishly wild witches —Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy—return from 17th-century Salem after they’re accidentally conjured up by some unsuspecting pranksters. It’s a night full of zany fun and comic chaos once the tricky 300-year-old trio set out to cast a spell on the town and reclaim their youth…but first they must get their act together and outwit three kids and a talking cat.
Of course I’ve seen this one! (It gets shown on tv more than any other Halloween movie 🤣). Hocus Pocus is not one to be missed, it gets you in the mood for Halloween itself and holds an unbeatable air to it that just showcases how fun this season can be. God I want one of those aesthetic sweaters on Etsy I won’t lie 😭 I’ll finally be one of those people that flaunt their interests on their shirts 😯🤣.
Muppets Haunted Mansion
The Great Gonzo-world-famous daredevil – has done it all, seen it all, and narrowly survived it all. But on Halloween night, the fearless Gonzo takes on the greatest challenge of his life by spending the night in the scariest place on Earth – the Haunted Mansion. Teamed with his friend Pepé the King Prawn, this musical comedy reunites Kermit and the entire Muppets gang, who portray the beloved grim grinning ghosts of the Haunted Mansion in this star-studded, frightfully funny Muppets adventure.
My mum wants to watch this! 😂 Does anyone know if it’s meant to be the same mansion as the movie with Eddie Murphy? 🤔 It looks easygoing enough, hopefully we get a few laughs out of it!
This comedy-adventure follows Marnie and her younger siblings as they follow their estranged grandmother -a good witch (Debbie Reynolds)-to her home in Halloweentown, where witches, goblins, vampires and the like lead very normal lives. On her 13th birthday, Marnie learns that she comes from a witch family and that she, too, is a witch. When she discovers that an evil force is plotting to take over Halloweentown, she must help her mother and grandmother save the day.
Not gonna lie, back when my sister surprised me with a Disney+ subscription around the beginning of the year, I kinda already re-watched this franchise 🤭. They never get shown on the TV channels we have anymore and I wanted to see if my memory of them was what they actually were so there was a lil Halloween vibe going on back then already 😂. Now that it’s actually Halloween I’m looking forward to watching this with all the eerie vibes that now surround us! 🎃 (🧐….okay stop looking for the eerie vibes! I don’t actually want to be amidst ALL things spooky 😭 just the films 🤣).
There are a lot of proper horror movies thanks to the Star platform on Disney+ and it became clear to me whilst creating this post that I avoided them like the plague 😷.
Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas
Enter an extraordinary world filled with magic and wonder, where every holiday has its own special land. This is the heartfelt tale of Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town and all things that go bump in the night. Bored with the same old tricks and treats, he yearns for something more, and soon stumbles upon the glorious magic of Christmas Town. When Jack decides to bring this joyful holiday back to Halloween Town, his dream to fill Santa’s shoes unravels, and it’s up to Sally, the rag doll who loves him, to stitch things together again.
I’ll admit, I’ve got this on DVD but I’ve never actually paid full attention to it (twas one of those childhood buys 🤣). This year I’m making a promise to myself that I’ll probably live to regret when it doesn’t go anywhere: I want to know more about this film than the summary alone 🙈. It’s got to be as hyped as it is for a reason and I’d like to become a part of understanding why that is! 😄😂
The enchanting best-selling book series comes to life in the Disney Channel Original Movie Twitches. Superstar twin sisters Tia and Tamera Mowry star as “twitches,” twin witches who were separated at birth. On their 21st birthday, Alex (Tia) and Camryn (Tamera) reunite and discover that their unusual powers double in strength when they work together. Get caught in their spell as they work their magic to save everyone they love and fulfill their destiny.
Whenever I saw this pop up on Disney+ I’d always think it was a spin-off of Sister, Sister but nope, I was wrong! It has the same people tho so easy mistake to make 😶🤣. I’m really excited to watch this as it sounds so intriguing! Do I sense a hint of the Parent Trap with a sprinkle of mystery & magic? I think so and I’m here for it…or there, whatever! 🤩
Was looking around expecting to find Corpse Bride but nah, they don’t have that. I get too expectant when I see they have things that aren’t made by Disney themselves (Oh well. I have it on DVD anyway…..I’m just being difficult 🤣).
Mom’s Got a Date With a Vampire
The Hansen kids are in a jam. Adam and his best friend Duffy have gotten their hands on some tickets for a concert, and his sister Chelsea has a date with her dreamy boyfriend. The only problem is they’re both grounded. Chelsea and Adam will do whatever it takes to get their mom out of the house, even if it includes a chance meeting with a very mysterious man. Everything seems to go according to plan…until their little brother realizes that this stranger might be a vampire.
To end things on a random note (as this films not as widely recognized – by me anyway), I’m going to watch Mom’s Got a Date With a Vampire! It has Caroline Rhea in it from Sabrina The Teenage Witch (amongst other things: The Perfect Man I’m looking at you! 😂) so I’m hoping it won’t be one of those movies where they get a familiar face and that’s all they’ve got going for them 🤔. Either way it was enough to pull me in so they’ve succeeded! 🤣
Thank you for reading! 😉 Any films catch your eye? 👀 There are loads more on Disney+ but these are the few I think I’ll actually get round to checking out! Have you any more recommendations? 🍿Let me know in the comments below. Above all, if you’ve been here before then it’s clear to see I’m just going to be using this time to watch Coraline even more than I already do (if that’s possible!). It isn’t on Disney+ so I was annoyed at not being allowed to add it in above but all is settled now by that mere mention alone 😌🤣. Anyway, I’ll see BOO again very soon and I hope you have a spine-chilling time until then (in the nicest way possible 😐😂). Buh-bye now! 🤪 (That face is for sure the scariest thing in this entire post so I literally delivered in the end – you’re welcome! 🤣)🧡💜.
