My Disney+ Recommendations! โœจ

Hello and welcome! ๐ŸŒŠ How are you!? Today’s post has a slightly magical feel to it because it’s all about Disney! ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ (Neither of those emojis look like Mickey Mouse but I clearly won’t let that hold me back ๐Ÿ˜‚). I have always been a fan of Disney movies and despite not growing up with the Disney channel itself, my sister and I still saw all the greats such as Lizzie McGuire, That’s So Raven and Hannah Montana so a few months ago when I got my wisdom teeth removed and my sis surprised me with a subscription to Disney+, not only was I hit by a wave of nostalgia but I also had the opportunity to check out some things I’d wanted to see for ages! ๐Ÿ˜„ I also came across a load of pretty amazing stuff on there too that is new to me as well (this post will be focusing on that!). Hopefully you’ll feel intrigued to check out these shows/movies if you are yet to do so and get just as excited as I am about them! Popcorn at the ready ๐Ÿฟ…

Disclaimer: This post is in not sponsored at all although that would be cool too! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I just want to share what I’ve been enjoying on Disney+ simple as!

On Pointe

On Pointe is a six-part docuseries that follows students and captures a season in the School of American Ballet (SAB) in New York City. A diverse set of dancers will be followed through their rigorous training in fierce pursuit of their dream.

I really like this and was immediately taken in by how it shows another walk of life full of dedication and passion! ๐Ÿฉฐ It must have been the first thing I watched because I’d heard such good things about it already. I finished watching the series a good while ago but I can vividly remember feeling super inspired to follow my dreams and work hard to get to where I want to be ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’ซ. I’d for sure watch this one again!

Marvel Studios presents “WandaVision,” a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)-two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives-begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is head writer.

When this started to make a bit of sense to me I was still like WHAT?? it’s so out there and those moments of creepiness that remind you you’re not watching in on what you are led to think you are shock me right back down to reality ๐Ÿ˜‚. I love how easily it goes between both Wanda and Vision trying to fit in to the otherworldly craziness that is their “life” (quotation marks because I’m not really sure!). I’m yet to finish this so no spoilers please! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca (voice of Jacob Tremblay) shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, Alberto (voice of Jack Dylan Grazer), but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface. “Luca” is directed by Academy Awardยฎ nominee Enrico Casarosa (“La Luna”) and produced by Andrea Warren (“Lava,” “Cars 3”).

This movie is a breath of fresh air! ๐Ÿ˜† I loved every minute of it and the scenery puts you right there with the characters. I can understand why this is so highly spoken of and it lived up to my expectations of greatness (although for some reason I was under the impression it would be about a human boy discovering he can be a sea monster, not the other way round ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคฃ). Oh and I recognized some of the voice over artists which usually annoys me (because I want it to feel like the characters are their own people) but with this it didn’t get to me at all because they suited their roles perfectly! Bellissimo ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜‚.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

Set at East High School, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” introduces members of the drama club and their faculty advisers as they work their way toward the opening night of the musicals that they produce. New romances blossom, old friendships are tested to their limits while new ones are formed, rivalries flare, and lives are changed forever as these students discover the transformative power that only high school theater can provide.

I was under the impression that this would be annoying and to be completely honest with you, just something to make money ๐Ÿ™Š (there I said it!), but after finally seeing it for myself I love how it is its own thing and pays homage to High School Musical uniquely! In a small way it brings that era back to life and reintroduces it to those that perhaps didn’t get to experience the whole hype of it back in the day (that makes it sound much more long ago than it actually is…in other words, I don’t wanna feel old ๐Ÿ˜). It’s a relaxing watch with an easy to follow plot and it’s kinda odd to say but I feel grounded and calm when I watch it?? I don’t really know why ๐Ÿ˜‚. Maybe it’s not something to be questioned…..but yeah, I’d still like to know! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคฃ

This happens to be another one I’m slowly working my way through (not because it isn’t great but due to not having the time lately to settle into it) so again, don’t tell me anything you wouldn’t have wanted to know about it beforehand! I want to have my cake (chat about it today) and eat it (still be surprised about what is to come! ๐Ÿคฃ).

Be Our Chef

“Be Our Chef,” hosted by Angela Kinsey, is a cooking competition series that challenges five food-loving families to create delicious dishes inspired by the magic of Disney. In each episode, two of our families will go head-to-head in a themed cooking challenge at Walt Disney World. The two families with the most wins make it to the spectacular finale, where they compete for a magical grand prize!

This is very upbeat and for some reason it feels like you’re going on a holiday too (even though it’s just the winner getting that experience ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜‚). The snippets of the contestants going around Disneyland are a real diffuser amongst the hectic kitchen scenes and I enjoyed seeing the food come together as well! ๐Ÿฅ™

Raya and the Last Dragon

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Raya and the Last Dragon” travels to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together in harmony long ago. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world-it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well. “Raya and the Last Dragon” features the voices of Kelly Marie Tran as Raya, a warrior whose wit is as sharp as her blade, and Awkwafina as the magical, mythical, self-deprecating dragon named Sisu. Characters also include a street-savvy 10-year-old entrepreneur named Boun, the formidable giant Tong and a thieving toddler Noi with her band of Ongis.

One word, WOW (is that even a word? I occasionally use wowza on here so that makes more sense in my head in comparison ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฃ). I’m confused as to why Disney didn’t make people wait longer to watch this or make it viewable via premier access first like they’re doing with Cruella (you pay extra to see it) because you’d think something so good would involve the extra hassle! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I suppose Luca is the same and was put up directly (can you tell I’m new to this whole Disney+ thing? ๐Ÿ˜…) I feel spoilt by the two really so I’m not complaining! Anyway back to my opinion, this film follows a great plot and Sisu the Dragon reminds me of my puppy Nina which I can’t stop laughing about cause now I hear Awkwafina’s voice when I look at her ๐Ÿคฃ.

Zenimation, the series that creates a mindfulness soundscape experience with scenes from the timeless films of Walt Disney Animation Studios, returns for a new season. Enjoy moments from over eight decades of acclaimed films – including scenes from Disney’s first feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs all the way through to never-before-seen moments from Raya and the Last Dragon. Unplug, relax, and refresh your senses with the soundscapes of Disney Animation’s Zenimation, a tribute to the visual and sound artists who have created Disney Animation’s legacy of films. Created and edited by David Bess. Executive produced by Amy Astley. From Walt Disney Animation Studios.

This may be at the bottom of my list but it is up there with the best! Zenimation features a host of clips from Disney movies new and old and in each episode they all follow a certain calming theme whilst being wrapped in mesmerizing sounds. It comes across as very healing for your mind and just a few seconds in I feel so much more relaxed. My favourite has to be the Water/Ocean sequences! You can also watch all episodes blocked together as one (which I didn’t realize was basically a repeat of the lot until I had it playing for a good ten minutes ๐Ÿคฃ). It’s nice to have this playing in the background because somehow it helps me focus even more on whatever I’m doing (sounds usually distract me so this is a rare find!).

And there we have it! I hope you feel compelled to go check these out if you have Disney+ and haven’t already done so. Thank you for reading peeps! ๐Ÿ˜† Is there anything you think I should give a go?

You know the drill, Let me know your thoughts on what is listed above and share your own recommendations in the comments section! I love hearing from you and it truly adds to the experience of sharing my thoughts and the whimsical vibe that is felt on this whole journey when you get involved too so feel free to do so! โœจ

With that being said, I’m off! (Wait a minute, I’m becoming uninvolved after asking you to do the opposite ๐Ÿค”…That’s not good at all, okay so I’m off but I’ll materialize if need be to get involved in Disney+ conversations….that’s better! ๐Ÿ˜…. Tumbleweed better not approach that comment section or I’m truly outta here ๐Ÿ˜‚). I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Take care and I’ll see you again soon ๐Ÿ’—xx

  1. I had the same opinion about HSMTMTS, but I just finished watching the second season too and Iโ€™m a little obsessed. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Anyway, Iโ€™ve been meaning to watch a few of these other ones too. Iโ€™m just a little, *cough*, lazy about doing that. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

    1. It changed my opinion so fast I was in shock! ๐Ÿคฃ Haha out of all of them I’d for sure recommend you go for Luca first, it’s magical and had my sister and I in tears at the very end! (Good tears tho! ๐Ÿ˜‚). Thank you for reading! โœจ๐Ÿ’—

      1. Yesss! I wasnโ€™t sure about it while watching the first two or three episodes, but I dunno, suddenly I really started liking it. ๐Ÿ˜… Have you finished watching both seasons?
aww, I probably will! I love it when a book or movie can make me cry.. although itโ€™s not often. :/
        Of course ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ’™

      2. I just finished season 1 but yet to start 2! Hopefully (..not that I want people to cry ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคฃ). It’s such a feel good film, like I felt so inspired afterwards๐Ÿฟโœจ๐Ÿ’—

  2. WandaVision is up there with my favourite series, but The Falcon and the Winter Solider and Loki overtook it. Thankfully WandaVision is a lead up to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki is the opening of what is to come in upcoming movies, probably Spider-Man: No Way Home will be multiverse cause of Loki! Marvel really went and done three shows and made this year much better! Loved the blog!
