My September, October & November Favourite’s 2020! πŸƒ

Hi everyone! πŸ‘‹πŸ’• Don’t mind me, I’m just uploading a couple of post’s in one go…some of which should have been long gone by now πŸ˜…. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I missed a month of favourites let alone three so we’re just gonna accept this for what it is πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‚. Looking back, it’s like these last couple of months passed by in a blur but I know that in those moments it felt like anything but (all in a good way ✨).

I built up quite the list of favourites for each period of time and have picked out what I feel are the most significant seeing as this post is a triple threat and I don’t want to make it too long now 😌. I’ve never grouped these things together before so this should be interesting and I hope it works! I’ve sectioned off each month and the collages feature the material favourites alone so as not to be too crazy.

Maybe every now and then it could be how things get done, you never know (sure I didn’t even know this was going to happen πŸ˜‚). I have an image created for my September fav’s that is going to waste but I’ll probably paste over the 2020 and use it next year (digital recycling at it’s finest πŸ˜‚). Let’s see how fast 2021 goes and you can catch me lying about how I designed a “new” image, call me out if you’re from this era πŸ˜²πŸ™Œ.

From what I can remember, September felt like October because I kept getting confused + in that sense I might have missed on a month in the process, October itself was a very mindful and grounded time and then in November I found myself in planning mode to get back here whilst juggling other stuff (I used to be able to juggle but when I started to pay attention to it the “talent” wore thin. Showing off gets you nowhere in life πŸ˜‚). Anyway, let’s try out this thing and see how it goes, starting with…

September πŸ•Ί

My sister’s birthday: This was a LOT of fun! That whole day felt like a holiday because so much was packed into it. The theme was backstage VIP and we all got dressed up and had family photos taken as the sun cast a golden glow over the garden and set. It felt like a day out even though we were home πŸŒ„. We then had a lil party in the makeshift disco that the sitting room was transformed into πŸ•ΊπŸ˜‚. It was a day we won’t be forgetting anytime soon!

A Cozy Book Haul πŸ“š: 1st time ordering from Book Depository! πŸ›οΈβœ¨: I’m slowly but surely making my way through this lot but not in the right way, I can’t seem to stick to one alone! πŸ˜” Luckily they’re all amazing so at least I made good choices! πŸ˜‚

Kind & pure moisturizer: This is my go to moisturizer now after the brand I liked before got discontinued! I’m glad it’s working well with my sensitive skin because it’s also great value from Tesco! Didn’t think it would be so easy to come across something so soon after I moved on and it’s nice that it’s available close to home as opposed to being hopeful I’d see the last brand I liked again in tkmaxx as that’s a random place and didn’t always have what I went in for (no shade cause I still love it tho πŸ˜‚).

Floristry course: I think this was the best decision I made in 2020! I didn’t go into the year thinking I’d do a floristry course but apparently it’s in my veins so I won’t question it too much πŸ˜‚. Its nice to be learning something that’s more of a physical aspect unlike what I’ve studied before such as accountancy because I think I’m more likely to go into doing something thats personally more enjoyable and where growth can occur. I made the arrangement in the collage above! πŸ’

I’m considering dedicating a post to this as so much stuff went along with it! I’m currently doing a Christmas workshop and luckily I’ve completed the practical with a wreath so it’s tutorials now as I can’t get about at the moment with flare-ups. They’re calming watches so I’m enjoying them a lot, especially when there is blustery weather outside as then it feels all festive and cozy πŸ€—πŸŽ„.

Video bake: Melt in the middle chocolate pots: we made more desserts but this was the only one that turned out okay πŸ˜‚. Next time I’ll keep in mind that they’re best served straight out of the oven because otherwise if they go cold and you heat them up later they cook through completely and turn into normal sponges 🀦. You live and you learn!

My bujo spread for the month: I had completely forgotten I did this spread πŸ™ˆ. The last two have taken over and just you wait until I reveal my December layout! 🀣 But yeah, September…happened πŸ˜‚. I’m just joking, I really liked this design and it was an important one for me because it continued on from my first month back at journalling! I doubted I’d even make it to that stage so it’s nice to look back on 😊. You can see it HERE!

Magnum cookies and cream: I’ll admit I thought this would be INCREDIBLE but it was more so incredible πŸ˜‚. Can I even say that if I still ate it though? I think it’s one of those things that wouldn’t go far if it weren’t for the name but even so, if I remember rightly, back in September we were still having some Summer hot days and it was a welcomed treat! 🌞

Nutcracker movie: This was a magical watch, I’d wanted to see it for so long and felt semi disappointed because you could tell they were acting but I would watch it again! Especially now that we’re getting closer to Christmas ❄️.

October πŸŽƒ

Dip dyed my hair: I wrote about this at the end of revisiting my Autumn bucket list 🍁. I decided to dip dye so that it will grow out when I get bored of it because I tend to go through phases like wildfire πŸ˜‚.

Finished knitting scarf: Is the snapshot in the collage the first time I’m showing you this? πŸ€” Do you know what, I might put it up on my Instagram feed. Not only for a close up but because I’m proud of this moment and didn’t think it would come πŸ˜‚. I am very pleased with my scarf, it’s wider than I set out for it to be so comes across as lacking in length but can still be wrapped around and around πŸ€—. I completed it just in time before pain in my hands started to set in so am very grateful to my past self for sticking at it after that long Summer where I set it aside πŸ™„πŸ˜‚.

My bujo spread for the month: This was everything I set out for it to be and more! I hadn’t been that crafty since primary school πŸ˜‚. I’ve got some halloween stickers left over too which will come in handy sooner or later. Have a look! πŸ‘»

Video bakes – Beetroot brownies & Irish shortbread: My sister had made beetroot brownies before and spoke highly of them so we decided to give a recipe a go and the making of them was just as fun as the trying! I was worried our blender would be red forevermore πŸ˜‚ but it’s okay. Mixing in the cocoa powder the batter was so silky and they turned out perfectly! When you bit into a slice you could taste chocolate with an undercurrent of something else but because the cocoa was stronger it made us keep going back for more! I’d say the beetroot definitely brought out the best in the chocolate somehow.

Moving on, I actually don’t want to think about the shortbread because even though they were nice to begin with, my mum stored them close to some garlic and OH MY GOD IM HAVING FLASHBACKS 🀒. I was like “why does it taste so weird?” and then it dawned on me πŸ˜ΆπŸ˜‚.

Onwards: This was something I wanted to see after coming across cardboard cutouts in the cinema right before it became apparent that covid-19 was out and about. You know when you can tell somethings going to be good? Well when I get that feeling I don’t go into things half-hearted, I head straight for blu-ray πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‚ and I’m mighty glad I did! It’s such a heartwarming tale and I could watch it over and over again 🌟x5.

Autumnal mug: This didn’t turn out exactly like the advertisement but I’m still happy with it and I love the Hamilton sticker I ordered too! πŸ‚ I don’t wanna say where it’s from as then I’m advertising the store when I’m annoyed with them (I’m petty like that πŸ˜‚)……Okay it was from SovendeBjornSupplyCo! I won’t deprive you of maybe having a better experience with them πŸ‘πŸ˜‚. Despite the annoyance it didn’t leave my side up until I got the impression that somebody else had drank from it, now I’m keeping an eye on where it’s placed after I put it away πŸ•΅οΈπŸ˜‚.

New beanie hat: I’m in LOVE with this hat from UrbanBearco on Etsy. It’s way better than what I thought I’d be getting as I became pessimistic that something could actually be that beautiful. Such great quality and very cozy!! πŸ™Œ I want more πŸ˜‚.

Succulents: I got 3 more in October! An aloe vera plant (I’m very happy with it but somehow I forgot to put it in the collage 🀦. Ah well, you’ll see it soon!) and two others in skull pots that I’m unsure of origin wise although I know they’re cacti so I’mma just go for general care. All were gifts and are probably praying to the plant God in hope they’ll be taken to a better place but I swear I try my best 😌. In this Winter weather it’s difficult to know what to do but I’ve decided I’ll act on it if they start looking funny cause that’s when I feel guilty πŸŒ΅πŸ˜‚.

Bean body coffee scrub: I found this to be so good for lines around my neck that I think appear when you sit scrunched up a lot (me to a T πŸ™„ I disappear into my chair πŸ˜‚). This gives me my daily fix of coffee smell’s, aside from making my mum her mugs. I love coffee and am apparently good at making it but it doesn’t love me back, isn’t that just the way.

Homemade iced buns: My mum is making her debut in this post! πŸ˜‚ She made iced buns because the recipe was on an icing bag packet and I wouldn’t stop going on about them. They were soooo good! We used to get packs of them from Lidl or Aldi but haven’t seen any there in a while without raisins embedded within so homemade was the way to go!

Isabella Handmade Soaps: These were beautifully made and each one had a unique Halloween fragrance in the box I purchased and the honey oat + peppermint bars on top of that order were AMAZING too! They were all gentle on my skin 😍 although they crystalized fast when left in cold places (not to say I’m cold ❄️ I’mma ice queen πŸ˜‚). I got them from Etsy and 100% recommend! 🌟

November 🍁

My birthday: I had an amazing day and a lot of thought went into it! ✨ When it began with my parents holding buttons to their eyes and an omelette with bacon for breakfast it dawned on me that it was going to be Coraline themed 🀣. My sister had planned it all and transformed the sitting room into the other world! I had to crawl through a sinister tunnel to get in there but was so out of it that I had forgotten the possibility of what could be on the other side and then I saw it all 😍.

The room was dark and magical with the theme tune music playing, it had been transformed into a whole other world. Certain areas were aglow with different coloured fairylights and art + crafted ornaments were placed everywhere from various parts of the story. I had to find the ghost eyes and along the way I discover props, it truly felt like I was there. Amongst other things she’d made a clay doll with button eyes that looks exactly like me with a bastille top on and my favourite plaid coat πŸ˜‚, a painting of the happy little boy holding an ice cream and a snow globe with Coraline’s parents hidden inside.

There’s too much to explain, it was so overwhelming I cried which was the reaction my sister had wanted πŸ˜‚. I’ll never forget how happy that day made me feel and am incredibly grateful for what I received + the memory of it all. My mum and dad got me a tent + sleeping bags so as soon as these flare-ups wear off you know where I’ll be β›ΊπŸ˜‚.

To top it all off my mum made a coraline cake and we got KFC πŸ˜‹. A great result of all this is not only that I get to keep leftover paints and art supplies but my sister and I can now quote the movie script to eachother which is an absolute dream in my eyes (she’s sick of it after watching so many times to get it right but it’s a small price to pay for my happiness πŸ˜‚).

Christmas floristry workshop: I’ve got to get out of the habit of saying stuff early on but like I mentioned above, I’m currently doing a Christmas workshop! πŸŽ„ I have put it down as a November favourite because that is when it started and since there are loads of other students the tutors decided to keep it going for discussions and stuff longer so I think it ends on the 20th of this month just before the big day! So far it’s really fun and interesting and I’ve been given an insight into something I might do once my pain has died down so that’s always good! Living from one goal to the next but it keeps me going βœ¨πŸ˜‚.

My bujo spread for the month: This was full of my most detailed drawings as of yet! I’m glad I finally did the whole bee thing and November was the best time for it because I’m no longer in the mood to be so intricate πŸ˜‚. HERE it is! 🐝

Pumpkin heads: I was determined to read this in Autumn and I did! πŸ˜…πŸ‚ That makes it sound like a chore when I actually really liked it πŸ™Œ. I’d love to read more graphic novels, one I’m yet to get round to that is on my shelf is Illegal by Andrew Donkin and Eoin Colfer! As soon as I’ve finished what I’m trying to stick to at the moment bookwise I’m on it πŸš—.

Panettone: My family and I went through this in under an hour it was so tasty! πŸ˜‹

Festive foodie magazines: There’s nothing quite like flicking through a magazine anytime of the year but at Christmas it gets that bit more special because it’s stuff that can be shared by the family if it makes it to the dinner table. There’s a wow factor to everything featured and it’s all so mesmerizing! I love sitting back in the evenings with Baking Heaven and BBC Goodfood by my side πŸ˜β˜•.

More succulents: Tell me when to stop and I won’t listen because I got two more plants! 😁 They were for my birthday and yet again I don’t know what they are but added to the collection they have been! They seem very delicate so I’m also not sure if they even are succulents but I’ll keep an eye on them and do what feels best (you be thinking “okay, they’re gonna die” πŸ˜‚). I’m going to try to prove myself wrong in the care department πŸ™Œ, it’s off to a great start in not knowing what it is that I’m caring for πŸ˜‚.

Garnier organic restoring hemp collection: These were a birthday present and although I’m yet to try the oil at night because it’s meant to be a sleep edition, I can say they do my skin well in the daytime and really hydrate!!

Thank you for reading! It was short no? πŸ™πŸ˜‚ A part of me was tempted to add in December because I kept forgetting it’s not over yet! I left out a lot and it took some time to sift through it all and decide what to go for. Rightfully so I left out video bakes that went wrong (and there were loads πŸ˜•) but what did make the list are things I want to be reminded of when looking back as they trigger nice memories in my mind so we’ve done good today! πŸ‘ Are there any favourites from these last few months that you’ll never forget? Let me know in the comments below (I chant that nowadays πŸ˜‚) and I hope you have a brilliant day! Take care of yoself βœ¨πŸ’•
