My Bullet Journal: September Edition 2020! πŸ–ŠοΈπŸ˜―

Room service! Here’s a breath of fresh air πŸƒ no, YOU’RE welcome πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚. Hi everyone! How are ya? πŸ’• I’m as shocked as you are right now, believe me! After taking a break from bullet journaling after starting in April (HERE) and returning with a new spread last month HERE, I was a tad dubious about whether or not the productivity would continue but it has! 😌 (Probably didn’t look like it would seeing as I’m sharing this in the middle of the month but that’s only because I had things I wanted to get out of the way first πŸ™Œ).

Soooo welcome to my first ever second month in a row bujo spread! πŸŽ‰ Thank you, thank you very much πŸ˜‚. I’m not late in publishing this, were still in September okay 😏 Maybe our perceptions of time are different…yeah I’ll go with that πŸ˜‚.

It’s time to share my September bujo spread with you and that cannot be done without letting you know what my theme is now can it? (Well it could but I don’t wanna leave you out in the cold πŸ€—β„οΈπŸ˜‚). This months theme is…… πŸ₯……Read between the lines ✨. Actually just gave me shivers then πŸ˜‚. It’s more or less a lot of colourful lines and I love where I went with it! I planned it all out by drawing each page on a smaller scale and I think that really helped me get it all together before the time came to start! (And it saved me from making a load of mistakes + tearing pages out of my journal too so that’s always good πŸ‘πŸ˜‚).

Just like I learned stuff I wanted to alter within these pages throughout August (which I will discuss within this post!) It’s dawning on me that are loads of options I wish I could have either added or left out this time round so already I know what I’ll be doing differently in October πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚. Because of that, this post is half review as we are already a way into the month so I’mma tell you what expectations I had alongside what’s not working for me whereas my August bullet journal post was all anticipatory 😬 (this is gonna be a whole other kettle of fish 🐟 but they shouldn’t be in there anyway the poor things πŸ€”πŸ˜‚).

A good bit has altered but a lot stayed the same and I think I’ll forever be chopping & changing like that until I figure out what pages work well for me, which isn’t a problem as I like to try out new ideas ✨. I gathered all of my new pens and just went for planning it one evening so here is a photo of all the stationery I used and then we’ll roll on into the layout itself! 🀣

There’s your usual glitter, turbo glitter and metallics (which are my new things!) alongside my trusty highlighters, pencils and fineliners!

Oh and Apologies in advance for the amount of time I might say spread today (I’ve never spoken that word so much and not meant butter but it might just be in the planning so there’s a fair chance I’ll have gone through and deleted a lot of it by the time this is over πŸ€žπŸ˜‚). Onwards and upwards we go…..

On the first page we’re starting out with a something new where I announce the theme itself!! I thought it would be a nice touch and the way I’ve written it, you actually are reading between the lines which is cool πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚. I used a gold metallic colour and just went with what my imagination was telling me to do, sometimes there’s no stopping it and those moments are few and far between art-wise so I let it take over ✨.

Then I announced that it is September! I used turbo glitter pens to draw the lines and wrote the words in silver before outlining with a black Staedler pen. The yellow colouring was added so as to try hide the ink coming through from the other side but it didn’t really work πŸ™„πŸ˜‚. I am in love with those glittery effect pens and although they don’t completely show up well in photos I get to experience them in full on this side so that’s all that matters πŸ˜πŸ˜‚.

I was going to skip a page as the ink from my September announcement goes through onto the next one and I didn’t want to ruin my Gratitude design but then I thought of a way it could be used! I acknowledged the ink likes that were coming through and shaded in some of them with brighter glitter pens, drawing a cozy blanket of sorts to signify that Autumn is on the way πŸ‚. Then I wrote a motivational quote “a beautiful beginning”….kinda left out an “n” in there but you can’t really tell with the orange line going through right? πŸ˜… You know, the line that caused so much trouble on the previous page? Yeah that line πŸ˜‚.

For some reason it was difficult to think of a quote, Pinterest didn’t even help with my indecisiveness. I think it’s because I wanted it to be something that would stick for the month and that I’d like to look back on every now and then. At one point I was going to say “somewhere down the line this will all make sense” and tbh I wish I had but I forgot! 😭

It wouldn’t have been exactly motivational but I like how it makes you think about how things could be and not to question now for the sake of that unless you really should I guess πŸ’«. As it is, “a beautiful beginning” is still nice and I find myself smiling whenever I happen to land on that page so all’s well that ends well πŸ˜ͺ (is that a yawn or is the emoji blowing a bubble from its nose? I really want to know πŸ€”πŸ˜‚).

Moving on we have a healthy dollop of gratitude! Last month this was at the very end but seeing as how I benefited the most from it I moved it closer to the beginning! 🌱 Gosh I didn’t even use highlighters this much when I was in school and even then I used them a lot so thats saying something! πŸ™ŠπŸ˜‚ This page reminds me of sweets for some reason 🍬.

I edited out that top line as I’d already started the first day when these photos were taken so you can’t see what I wrote but the side where all the dates are being been jotted down has been left in to give you a good idea of what it may look like πŸ—“οΈ. What I will do in my October edition is not make the colours so in your face like these somewhat are because I’m finding that this one isn’t as calming to look back on at the end of the day compared to my last gratitude spread which is a shame πŸ™„ so I will definitely keep that in mind! 🌠

Next is my Blog Schedule! πŸ“± Yet again this has become a mashup of options instead of the order they will actually be published in but I’m still really happy with it. I need that list of what posts are ready because I’ve been so busy with my course lately so this is a must and is a huge help! The original idea behind it was that each square off the side is a station so it’s like ACTION STATIONS as I’m getting prepared to do blogging stuff πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚.

The scribble page is my rendition of this months brain dump! πŸ’ I like the quirky lines, some are penciled in (which I might rub out later so it looks like what I have written is floating 😍) and others have been drawn in with a bronze pen to add some eye-catching elements to the overall picture and keep it from looking boring (in my eyes anyway πŸ˜ŒπŸ˜‚).

Turning over, I wouldn’t be without a mood tracker! 😢 Something I learned last month was that it simply wasn’t enough to just colour code a box and leave it at that as there was nothing I could take forward from it aside from “oh, so I was upset on that day πŸ€””. I needed a way to write down why I feel the way I do and in creating that it’s become a lot more helpful in figuring out a correlation in emotions + what I’m doing when I’m at my happiest and vice versa. This time round my mood tracker has become so much better for me through just adding those lines so I know it’s a feature that will stay! (And it ties in with the theme too so YAY πŸ˜‚)

Last and by no means least….(wait it is actually because I haven’t looked at it at all really πŸ˜•) is my routines page. All other pages were thought about heavily in the lead up to when I took the time to sit down and plan this whole thing out but then last minute I came up with the idea to do this morning/evening routine which you can see above πŸŒžπŸŒ™. I kept it in pencil incase I changed my mind and I like how I designed it with the bar going up through the middle of the page but maybe this just isn’t the right time for it? I don’t know. It was a momentary “let’s go with it” that I didn’t really care for but perhaps it will make a reappearance somewhere further down the line, who knows? 🀷 I sure as hell don’t πŸ˜‚.

That just goes to show how this is all trial and error, I’ll find what pages I enjoy + can use on a regular basis but only through testing them out. It wasn’t this routine section’s time to shine just like how in my August spread I included a page dedicated to quotes which didn’t really go anywhere in the end and I don’t think I’d have looked back on it even if it had gone well. I wonder what will take the routine page’s place next month?! 😯✨

In order for a page to go down well with me it needs to be useful, like the rest of these are, the starter tells me what’s in store (as does the September announcement incase I forget what month we’re in, as you do 😜) and the beginning quote on the rug is something I’ll always glance at and remember when I first got excited about the oncoming season. The gratitude page keeps me grounded and shows me what I’ve accomplished and the blog schedule keeps me in the know, Scribble keeps me level headed as it allows me to let go of random thoughts and my improved mood tracker tells me where my attention is best laid based upon what keeps me sane πŸ˜…. Maybe there was just no room for a routine after all that now that I think about it πŸ€·πŸ˜‚.

And there we have it! πŸ’« Thanks for checking this post out! πŸ˜‰ I’m very pleased with how it looks. Its simple yet effective and very laid back! The bright colours and glitter have gotten me all excited about maintaining yet another spread and using it to benefit my life. What do you think about it? Do you have a bullet journal? What’s your theme for September? Any pages you couldn’t be without? Let me know in the comments below and I hope you have a lovely day! 🌟 Take care of yoself πŸ˜‚πŸ’–
