Do you wanna know the books I’m re-reading? ๐Ÿ“š

Hi everyone! I’ll answer that question for you: why yes Lucy of course I do! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜‚ Wait…is that a “no” I hear? Well tough because I spent some time putting this post together and “some” just so happens to be a codeword for A LOT (so substitute that in and feel guilty about your past choices ๐Ÿ‘). What’s that? You originally said no but now you’re saying yes? Well I’m glad you changed your mind, I can’t think of why but I’m not gonna question it! โ˜บ๏ธ

Today I’m going to share with you the books that I’m re-reading! ๐Ÿ“š You know that I was gonna buy stuff from the Book Depository? (Well if you didn’t, ya do now!). Based off an order that my sister placed over a month ago that is yet to arrive, I’m holding back on that proclamation! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I have ordered some books from Easons but they’re mostly just relaxing things to read before I sleep (I swear by reading Diary of a wimpy kid before you go to sleep, no joke ๐Ÿ™Œ or else I wouldn’t now own the entire collection solely because of that ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿ˜‚). I also received Toffee by Sarah Crossan from Easons yesterday too (the reason why I’m not getting EVERYTHING that I wanted from them is because they don’t have all of the books that I want and BD do so they better ship out soon ๐Ÿ˜‚). Until I can actually have those glorious books on my full-on shopping list in my life I’m choosing to re-read some of my past fav’s starting with this lot:

The Mortal Instruments & The Infernal Devices

In my mind I used to live vicariously through these books ๐Ÿ˜‚ I cannot put into words how much I loved The Mortal Instruments, so much that it pains me to say that I’m re-reading them to remind myself what happened because how could I forget something so good? ๐Ÿ˜ต I want to catch up because I remember being really excited about The Dark Artifices (I had only just started book one, Lady Midnight when other things took my attention!). If I can get up to where I left off I can get the new books and be up to date on what’s going on in the Shadowhunter world (and what a glorious day that will be โœจ๐Ÿ˜‚).

So far it’s a totally different experience than the first time I read it but truthfully I’m hoping it will soon mirror the exact same feeling I used to get (maybe it won’t because it was new to me back then though ๐Ÿ˜•). I want to become as connected to the characters as I used to be in a sense that I felt like I knew them personally and was fully there with them (maybe as an unmentioned character ๐Ÿ˜‚) as well as create a mind movie that no film could replicate. Whenever I come across parts that I remember I get those ASMR tingles in my head for some reason, you know the type that you can get when a specific song plays sometimes?? I wonder if there’s a way to automatically release that chemical into your brain because it feels so magical but saying that sounds a bit odd at the same time ๐Ÿ˜‚โœจ

Beautiful Creatures

When I think of the Beautiful Creatures books, what comes to mind is how detailed they were and yet suffice to say I can’t for the life of me remember what they were about ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜‚ I don’t think I have all of the books so I can’t remember if I got to a point where I realized that I didn’t really like it but I wanna be the judge of that again as my taste is constantly changing (I never used to like ketchup and now I do ๐Ÿคท…but only from a satchet, don’t put a tube in-front of me ๐Ÿคข). Are there any books you never used to like and now do?

The Fandom

This is the only individual book I’m re-reading but not for long because when I was on a hunt for what to order from the Book Depository I was looking at my bookcase thinking “what do I wish had a sequel?” and I picked this not knowing AT ALL that there is one out there!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Honestly, I needed it from the moment I realized it existed. But until then I need to brush up on what went down in the first book so I want to read it again. That shouldn’t be a problem as I remember thinking back when I was first lost in it that it wasn’t a one-time thing, I’d be sure to pick it up again so I’m excited to do just that!

I have no idea how far into the Matched trilogy I was ๐Ÿค” I might have gotten halfway into the last book but since I’ve forgotten all that happened I recently started it again and I can see why I liked it so much! ๐Ÿ™Œ With these books, whenever I restart them I always get distracted so I don’t know if I will get to that last book again but I’ll bloody well try! ๐Ÿ˜‚

The Gone series

This must have been the first ever series that I was obsessed with and that is a bittersweet thought to realize where it all started โœจ I remember where it ended but I want to go back to the beginning and fill in all of the missing pieces in my memory.

The Hunger Games

I’ve been tempted to revisit this series especially since my cousin is in love with them too and the references spark the fangirl within me ๐Ÿ˜‚ *tries to casually put out the flame that the spark creates because fangirls are judged enough without being on fire too๐Ÿ”ฅ* ๐Ÿ˜‚ I have been reminded of how good The Hunger Games books are and I’m looking forward to delving into that dystopian setting again ๐Ÿ’ซ

A Court of Thorns and Roses

I’m actually unsure whether or not I should re-read these because flashback to a few months ago and I was ready to move onto Throne of Glass (you’ve just witnessed me remembering that there are 2 books of another series in my possession that I am yet to finish and here I am RE-reading my old books ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚). I might just have to go read those new ones first and get something completely new into my system before I delve back into that world or maybe I might just confuse myself….

I dunno, I don’t have all of the answers to these difficult questions but what I do have is a big decision to make as to what direction I should go in ๐Ÿ˜” (let me just have something to focus on, no matter how dramatic it may sound, it’s nice making something so miniscule into a problem that can actually be solved in the end and solve it I will! ๐Ÿ˜‚).

Thank you for reading what I’m re-reading! ๐Ÿ˜‚ I kinda scattered my questions for you throughout the post so I’ll end with: are you re-reading any books? Past favourite’s or ones you would like to learn to love? Let me know and I hope you have a lovely day! ๐Ÿ’•

  2. Ah I really want to read the mortal instruments series๐Ÿ˜ I watched the tv series but I’ve heard it’s no way near as good as the books๐Ÿ˜… (mostly probably due to the acting… But I enjoyed it nevertheless)๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. They are absolutely AMAZING ๐Ÿ™Œ I haven’t seen the TV series yet but I did watch the movie ๐Ÿฟ In which I wouldn’t have chosen those particular actors but I suppose the books are so good that it would be tough to meet the expectations that have been built up over the years โœจ Thank you for reading! โค๏ธ

  3. So many great reads here! I recently reread the entire TMI and TID series. I can’t believe how much I’d forgotten. It was like reading them for the first time. But I still loved them by the end, which made me so happy. Sometimes rereads just don’t work, you know? I’m rereading the Hunger Games trilogy this month in preparation for the new release. I hope I enjoy it just as much this time around as I did on my first reading. It’ll be nice to revisit the series after so long. Enjoy those rereads! I hope you experience those same wonderful feelings โค

    1. YES I hadn’t realized how much I’d forgotten of the Mortal Instruments, I’m beginning to wonder if I overlooked a lot of it in an enjoyment daze the first time round as they’re coming across as different books ๐Ÿ˜‚ I was afraid re-reading would tarnish the view I held onto of my favourites but luckily so far it hasn’t! ๐Ÿ™Œ Ahh hope you enjoy the Hunger Games! โœจ Thank you soooo much! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ’•

cause you got the entire mortal instrument series and the gone series! iโ€™ve been placed on a book ban until iโ€™ve read my gigantic pile of unread books that have accumulated whilst iโ€™ve been busy with studies. and then iโ€™ve got to figure out which of my beloved books imma part ways with to allow space for these collections hehehe!

btw have you seen the tv shows for mortal instruments? your thoughts on it? (iโ€™m holding off till i read the books)

i want to reread the PJ series and the skulduggery pleasant series.

    1. I need to place myself on a book ban ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜‚ Must be a difficult step as it’s so tough not to get new books ๐Ÿ“š I have bags of books I’m getting rid of but I don’t understand what shelves I took them down from as there’s still no space! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚ No I haven’t seen the show yet but I’m tempted despite the bad reviews it’s got from readers. Oh that’s so cool!! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ซ I’ll break your book ban ๐Ÿ˜‚ Take care โค๏ธ
