How to remember + stick to a routine!

Hi everyone! πŸ’– How are you? Today’s blog post is all about how to remember + stick to a routine! My routine is forever chopping & changing but one thing I will say is that I’m fairly good with keeping some things going (primarily blogging as I love it so much!) and then I’m given a fair idea of how important something is to me if I stick to doing it (was that me giving myself a compliment? Well I never πŸ˜‚). Anywho, here are some ways to remember + stick to a routine:

Make it fun!

Or else how are you going to even want to remember it? If the routine revolves around tidying then stick on some music 🎢 If it’s going for a walk then take your dog with you (if you have one of course! πŸ˜‚) as then they are getting in their exercise too and a memory will be made. If you don’t have a dog bring your camera with you instead to snap some photos of your surroundings. Multitasking with hobbies at it’s finest! πŸ™Œ

Incorporate it into your day

If it’s something like getting more steps into your day (not the group, the actual foot movement πŸ˜‚) then why not do it on the spot whilst brushing your teeth or as you’re baking something. If it can be incorporated in little ways then it will be a solid part of your routine before you even know it!

Leave notes to remember

Put them in places that you’re sure to look! Like on the fridge, the outfit you’re planning on wearing the next day or on doors (you’re bound to see them when you walk up to the door… unless your unconscious mind is against you, if so you’re well and truly screwed πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚).

Give yourself awards

Who doesn’t like a good reward?! You will work harder at sticking to a routine if you know you’re getting something in return (even if the routine itself is rewarding! πŸ˜‚). Something like a sweet treat or sticking your favourite movie on 🍿

Check in on how you’re doing every so often

This way you can stop or alter the routine in little ways if you find that it isn’t working for you!

Remember why you started doing it

Like most things in life, if you ever feel like giving up on something try to remember why you started doing it + how beneficial you believed it would be! πŸ’«
