Hi everyone! I hope you’re well ❤️ I’m going to ask you a serious question (I’m getting straight to the point 😂): have you been taking care of yourself today? More than the bare minimum of brushing your teeth and putting on a matching pair of socks (some days I do the complete opposite just for the sake of it though 😂), I mean really taking care of yourself?
If you’re unsure as to whether or not you have been providing yourself with the best self care experience then this is the post for you (boy am I glad you’re here 😌😂). I’m no expert so don’t worry this post isn’t gonna throw unrealistic tips your way, it will hopefully go the other way and have you really thinking about what you can effectively do for yourself. Let’s get this show on the road, here are my tips for the best self-care experience:
• Try not to regret any time spent doing something for YOU
you’re worth that time and it makes it only a waste if you’re thinking that you’re undeservant of it. At times like these you have to remember that you’re much more than you give yourself credit for and EVERYTHING that improves your mental/physical health is an essential step to take. It’s not always easy but you’re worth it.
• Remember that something is better than nothing
Even the smallest amount of time dedicated to self-care is valuable. Always dedicate a portion of your day to doing something for YOU if at all possible.
• It is important not to rush through an activity that is beneficial towards you
Take your time and make the most out of it. If you rush through it sets the scene for what you’re willing to do for yourself so make each and every second count!
• Don’t put too much thought into it, just do something you love!
You don’t have to do some huge thing just because it sounds better to recall than simply reading a book. If you want to read a book then just do it!
• Allow the task to take your whole attention
Don’t feel guilty for not thinking about something you feel is stressful going on in your life, just try to focus on what you’re doing in the here and now.
• learn to understand how essential incorporating self-care into your daily routine is.
Take note of the benefits you receive from each activity so that you know if they help and can return to doing them again in the future.
