I feel guilty saying “I”
and I don’t know why,
maybe because it draws attention to me
and people will look and see
what might disappoint them.
I feel guilty saying “I”
and I don’t know why,
the word is highlighted in my mind
it gets underlined
like it’s there more than necessary.
I feel guilty saying “I”
and now I have an idea why,
it makes me think of me
which is more difficult than it should be
no matter how much I try.
Thank you for reading! 😊 I have wanted to share this poem for some time and I guess now just felt right so I hope you could connect with it (at the same time I don’t because I hate to think of others feeling this way too but know that you’re not alone 💞). Take care and have a lovely day 😘
I know what you mean… “I” often feels selfish… There was a time that I felt like that, when I also felt very insecure… Now “I” feels stronger and legit… xoxo Sarah
