Why you should write down the things you love! πŸ’ž

Hi everyone! How are you? ❀ Today I thought I’d do another one of those random posts that may or may not be of help to you! πŸ˜‚ I have compiled a short list of 5 reasons why you should write down the things you love! πŸ–Š I myself find this an extremely rewarding thing to do (my so called poem: little book of the things I love was no lie so this post is a practice as you preach kind of thing really! πŸ˜‚). Without further ado here are my reasons why you should write down the things you love:

So as to remind yourself of all the things that make up the amazing person you are!

There can be a host of memories behind a single word and even if its from ages ago it will mean something to look back on and acknowledge how it helped make you who you are today. If something makes you smile to look back on then it is important! Whether it be a book, meeting up with a friend in your local cafe or a birthday party, scribble it down like nobody’s watching! (And if they are do it anyway and they’ll want to know what you’re so intent on writing πŸ˜πŸ˜‚).

So as to not forget them

You’re probably thinking “how could I forget what I love?” but hear me out! (For there is a meaning behind my madness! πŸ˜‚). When there happens to be so much built up over the years it is an easy mistake to make! That added extra to the list could be the one thing that ends up making you smile on a bad day, which coincides with the next reason why you should write down the things you love…πŸ–Š

Because it will be nice to look back on whenever you need a boost!

When you’re feeling out of sorts it’s nice to look back at what brought joy to your life when you were in a better place ✨

To learn more about yourself!

“What else is there to know?” I hear you asking? Well quite frankly, a lot! (I’d even go as far as saying you don’t know yourself πŸ˜²πŸ˜‚). Having your personality laid out before you can really open your eyes to your likes and dislikes. Linking it all together can be of help on things like CV’s or even on those days when you don’t think you have a hobby or are into anything when you really are! (Throwback to when I first started this blog and shared a list of things you can try out in search of a hobby πŸ™ˆ I feel like my writing style has come so far since then, how were there no emojis!? πŸ˜‚).

To take you back to certain places in time that would otherwise only be stored away in your noggin!

I love using the word noggin instead of head πŸ˜‚ In my book of things I love I have written down things like “that time the cousins stayed in a b&b close to where we live” as that outer shell of the memory holds so many more. By keeping record of these times I can almost teleport back into them when I’m in a bad headspace and remind myself that good stuff does happen, more is to come and it’s the simple things we carry forward with us that matter the most.

Thank you for reading! πŸ˜‰ Are you going to write down the things you love? I hope I’ve convinced you to do it! Let me know and have a great day! 🌀 I’m off to see The League of Gentleman Live! (My sister won tickets again πŸ˜‚). I’m a bag full of nerves but can’t hide the added excitement. I will be sure to let you know how it goes (most likely in my end of month favourites!) ❀

    1. Thank you!! I get what you mean, whenever I try to start a bullet journal I never stick with it and when I do I don’t think it’s neat enough so I just keep at writing lists like this πŸ˜‚ I hope you find a way that works for you in writing a journal! ❀

  1. I really like this! I did something similar where I took a week in my life and wrote down everything that made me happy no matter how big or small it was. It helped in particular during some stressful times of my life. 😊 I’m going to do this too! Great writing as always! πŸ™Œ

  2. This was lovely. The planner that I bought at the start of the year encourages you to write a highlight of the week, which I initially ignored, until I realised how nice it is to be able to look back only our week and highlight something good that happened, if if it’s just one thing πŸ’–
