June Favourite’s 2018

Hi everyone! How have you been lately? ❀ Another month is behind us and I for one forgot there was such thing as days, weeks and months. I found that I wasn’t counting them down or wishing them away! For once I stayed content in where I was not wishing the clock could be turned back or go forward even when things got difficult. I would still find it hard to put all of myself into the moment but my thoughts didn’t veer to the past or future as much as usual so that can only be a good thing that I hope to keep up. June is no more…well until next year anyway! And I’ve been looking forward to sharing with you the favourites it brought along so let’s jump straight into them! πŸ˜„

Rhubarb Crumble

This was an easy enough recipe and my first time trying rhubarb thanks to a friend who has a large patch of it growing despite never planting any! (I wish that would happen in my garden but with strawberries! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‚). The crumble was sweeter than I thought it would be but very nice. I very much just threw it together not worrying about measurements but keeping my apple crumble recipe in mind for a basic ingredients guideline to follow. It was both dairy and gluten free (which explains it’s extra crumbly appearance πŸ˜‚) and served with yummy alpro custard! πŸ˜‹

Zara Jumpsuit & Boohoo Blue Bag

This jumpsuit was €7 and is so lovely to just lounge around in (the picture I took of it is dreadful! No angle does it justice but I swear it’s gorgeous πŸ˜‚). In the advert it looked like a soft cotton material but it’s actually jean (smart photographer knowing we’d be in warmer weather wanting lighter material! πŸ™„πŸ˜‚). It’s very pretty and I’m glad it’s shorts and not a dress despite very much looking like one.

The boohoo bag was what I took with me to the Taylor Swift concert! My sister ordered it and it came just in time only for her to discover the strap wasn’t long enough so she gave it to me! πŸ‘œ I love how it’s an electric blue and it matched parts of the sweater I wore which was the black River Island one with rainbow lettering from my haul HERE!

Seeing Taylor Swift, Charlie XCX & Camila Cabello! 🎀

I’m so happy that my nerves took a backseat throughout this experience because it was truly amazing! When I wrote about it HERE afterwards I was at a loss for words and I still am. I haven’t been able to stop watching stuff we filmed and it feels more like I was there now that I’m not there anymore if that makes sense? I’m more in the moment when it’s gone πŸ˜‚ I will keep in mind all of your tips on how to keep calm on Sunday when we’re off to the next concert in a different park (I feel like this next one will be a little bit calmer as we’re going as a family and I cannot wait!).

Lemara Hydrating Facial Oil

This is brilliant and has replaced my daily use of Freederm everyday! (Who’d have thought anything could pull me away from my beloved Freederm routine that sparked off the worst side of my skin whenever I turned my back on it? πŸ˜‚). It boasts a number of botanical oils alongside argon oil, oat oil, rosehip oil, sweet almond oil, grape seed oil and evening primrose oil. My face is a lot clearer and any spots that do choose to make an appearance soon disappear. It’s hydration properties have also meant that the dryness of my skin has reduced greatly πŸ’†

Flow Bracelet

This is such a cool invention, it’s designed with large overlapping rings that slide into place and expand when you place it on your arm. It flows up and down with each movement you make and it’s fun trying to make it continue up your other arm like an odd version of the Mexican wave (odd because you’re alone so it looks like you’re body popping πŸ˜‚). It’s very hypnotizing and relaxing so every so often I have to remind myself I’ve got stuff to do and can come back to it later whereupon I get lost in it again! πŸ˜‚

My Smol TK Maxx Haul & Try On!

I’m still excited by the whole thing going on in this post as it was such a fun day out in the garden taking photos with my sister before the very worst of the sun hit us (we thought that was bad but we had no idea what was to come! β˜€πŸ˜‚). We’d be joking around then immediately acting serious for the job at hand before acting awkwardly nonchalant as cars drove past our driveway trying so hard not to dive behind the bins πŸ’ƒπŸ˜‚

Rose Rivers by Jacqueline Wilson

In my April Favourites I mentioned that I’d read Jacqueline Wilson’s book Clover Moon and I wanted to get the next book that came out in May. Well I was treated to it! (A book lovers dream occurred people! βœ¨πŸ˜‚). Same as before I really enjoyed it and got into reading it every evening before I dozed off, it was magical to say the very least! πŸ˜‚ I feel like before I sleep my mind is more open to falling into another world and what with Wilson’s writing being so easy to follow I was a goner.

New Pillows & Unicorn Tissue box πŸ¦„

Soft stuff! πŸ€—πŸ˜‚ I’d been meaning to get some new pillows since I changed my duvet just in time for the snow that we had earlier this year (I chose a high tog rating duvet which is unbearable in this summer heat…isn’t it always the way! πŸ˜‚). I got a pack of two for a tenner in Tesco and they have replaced my two old ones (as my other two on my bed are still quite new). I didn’t take a photo of them as they were immediately wrapped up in their cases and are now kinda crushed by my leaning on them as I read (I build up a tower to support my back and have to punch them into shape afterwards πŸ˜‚). Before this heat wave I had in place a good sleep routine thanks to the new pillows as they are so comfortable and fluffy and I can’t wait to revisit that period of time again!….and I’m gone πŸ˜΄πŸ˜‚

I found a unicorn box of tissues in Tesco as well for 99c (a bargain because only the packaging was different from the other boxes) and couldn’t leave it behind as it’s just too cute and you always need tissues (I’m the only one in the house who hasn’t caught the flu yet so these tissues are destined to disappear like crazy! 😦).

Original Source Vanilla and Raspberry Shower Gel

This shower gel smells incredibly sweet! It is so strong that you could probably smell it a mile off! πŸ˜‚ It’s a 100% natural fragrance and you can tell. Only a fraction of the powerful scent lingers after you use it so it doesn’t get to be too much but prolonged sniffing of the bottle can make it come across as sickly (which I probably shouldn’t be doing anyway!). It left my skin feeling smooth and soft and it feels like a real sweet treat! 🍬

Rowntrees Watermelon lollies πŸ‰

These lollies are absolutely delicious and have been my go to in order to get through the hottest of days! 😌 They are extremely refreshing and I hadn’t realized it before but I may have eaten them all πŸ™ˆ (you have a better chance getting to try them not living in the same house as me! πŸ˜‚). The bottom half of it is very sour and the pips are dark chocolate meaning all of the flavours compliment each other very well! πŸ˜‹

Thank you for reading! πŸ˜‰ As I wrote this before typing it out my pen was leaking everywhere so I had to keep taking breaks to wash blue off my hands πŸ˜‚ At least I wasn’t writing in red, that would’ve been like something out of a horror movie! πŸ˜“ I can never seem to find any pens when I need them. Anywho! What was your ultimate favourite thing throughout June? Let me know and have a lovely day! ❀
