Hi everyone! How are you? ❤ Last week Tuesday my sister and I travelled up to the next county on from us to meet with a friend and have a good old look around! We ended up making a lovely day of it and on the dark drive home afterwards I told myself I would write this post! 😂 This particular county isn’t new to us as it’s where my mum still continues her dialysis checkups/appointments both throughout and since her transplant but in the past I’ve always stayed inside the shopping center there as opposed to the occasions outside so this was somewhat rare and different for me to do as it is a worryingly vast outdoor space yet quirky with cobbles so worth the visit! 😍😂
We started off in Penney’s (Primark) having rummage! This particular Penney’s is my new favourite as they have a whole floor dedicated to sales! 😍 I don’t remember it being like that at all the last time I was there but back then I was too scared to venture up there in case I got lost but this time we stuck together! If you found something you liked in these sales there was more chance of your size preference being there as they had doubles of the same stuff and not only one which is more than I can say for my local (that I haven’t been to since around this time last year so shouldn’t grass 😂).
I got a striped blue shirt with dainty flowers on it that had been brought down in price from €11 to €5 which I think was a bargain as the material of it is very thick:
They also had it in red which I’m annoyed I didn’t think about more at the time but I’m looking forward to wearing this one tucked into jeans or with a white vest underneath for a full on day! (I put it on for a couple of hours the other day alongside shorts but the weather was still cold so I had to change back out of it 😂). Away from the sales I got my mum some pajamas, my dad some socks (as I dropped a pair of his down the back of our freezer (by accident!) so I don’t think they’ll be seeing daylight again and I felt really bad about it! 😂) and also these goodies that were amazing prices despite not having been brought down!:
Floral peplum vest €4
This vest is grey with small white, yellow and orange flowers on it (I love the idea of orange with grey!) and it flares out. I got it a little bit baggy as I thought when the weather does get hot I don’t want it too clingy. Like I mentioned above it has been over a year since I’ve been to Penney’s and in that time I don’t know if I’m wrong but they seem to have gotten better quality material?? This one doesn’t feel like it’ll shrink in the wash!! 😆😂 Yet as ever they have kept down their prices as this was only €4!!
Long pearl necklace €4
I thought a pearl necklace would go nice over a couple of white tops with quotes that I have and I’m excited to try it out!!
Rainbow bralette/cami €7
I think this is really pretty! It is quite short but if I wore it with high-waisted jeans it’ll be grand as I wasn’t going to leave it behind in Penney’s anyway! (I see now that it will probably be the hardest thing for me to wear but it would have been harder if I didn’t buy it! 😂).
I’ve noticed that a couple of my white t-shirts are mildly see-through and so I got this in an attempt to make it look like a fashion choice so now I can wear them! 😂
Aztec print joggers €6
These are so comfortable! I feel like they would be perfect for any day in Spring/Summer as air passes through the material and keeps you cool 😎 I also picked up a belt that I’m hoping to bring back soon and exchange as its too big and a pack of black knickers as I live in black leggings (as then I can wear any top I want alongside them!) but if I wear any other coloured knickers underneath they show! 🙈😂 In the past I never see them again after I put them into the wash (It’s a simply case of “The borrowers go bungee jumping” is coming to all cinemas soon and I’m at the imaginary premiere!! 😂) so I will try my best to keep track of these ones! 🙄😂
We rushed to pay as the store was closing at 6:30 (annoyingly they put the good stuff on the way out so there was a lot missed! 😂) and then we strolled down to an Asian restaurant which was so cosy and the lady who served us was lovely and had the coolest hairstyle! (It was short and half blond half pink). I chose what I’d usually get from my local Chinese, salt and chilli chicken with chips and it was made with an Asian twist (sauce as it is usually dry! 😍), I’m not sure what I love more but I definitely want it again! 😂 The chips were nice dipped in the sauce so it all went well! 😋
Ahhh It was absolutely delicious!! The kind of good food that makes you tired halfway through so much that I couldn’t keep my head up 😂 so I ended up getting it boxed for the next days breakfast before I dropped onto the plate myself! 😂 If I’m ever there again I’d like to try one of their egg and rice based dishes as they sounded yummy on the menu! It was a great restaurant as they catered fully to my sisters needs (she’s vegan) and served tofu cooked in a variation of ways so that her starter was a completely different texture to her main! 😋
Dessert was on our minds after all that savoury (and after dessert I wanted savoury again! It’s like a never-ending spiral 😵😂 this was great because I have days where I go off food with the pain and don’t enjoy/want it at all so it was nice to feel excited about it again!).
We knew where we wanted to go….Gino’s Gelato! (Strange because in this one there wasn’t any ice cream though 😂). The ceiling was made up of flashing rainbow bulbs that looked spectacular (although I didn’t notice them at first as the outline of my glasses was in the way so I’m glad I was told to look up! 🙄😂):
My sister and friend both got waffles with various toppings, here was my sister’s one which was covered in Oreo and white chocolate sauce:
Our friend got a strawberries and cream one that had the same white chocolate sauce on top! I chose Gino’s Kinda Crepe (as the crepes were in a deal with a hot chocolate and you know I can’t resist a deal! ☕😋). I asked for it in exactly the way it is written which was the wrong thing to do as the man serving us said “Kinder” and immediately started preparing it. We looked at each other confused thinking I was ordering something completely different before he explained it’s pronounced that way (Kinder not Kinda!), it was embarrassingly hilarious to have said “kinda crepe” instead though 🙈 At least he didn’t think I was mocking his cooking skills! 😂
It was filled with ingredients that made it taste exactly like Ferraro Roche!! 😋 With little crunchy biscuit disc pieces and Nutella. I made it look disgusting as it was a messy eat with the plastic fork with more going on my leggings than in my mouth 🙄 so the name I wrongly placed to it was more than fitting in terms of appearance by the time I’d gone at it! 😕😂
I saved the hot chocolate for later when we sat on the quay watching the city dwindle to a halt and people disappear into cars, buildings and buses. It wasn’t even cold like I had worried it would be as I sipped my hot chocolate and we joked about one of our phones ending up in the river which would have been impossible as a large glass wall was in-between us and the water and how we would not be able to get it back as none of us can swim (ignoring getting through that glass wall again! 😂).
Whilst waiting for my dad to pick us up I have no idea why but we played Simon says (the alley was deserted that’s probably why now that I think about it! 😂) but I had a flare up coming on which makes me act a bit groggy anyway 😂 We dropped our friend off home and descended on the hour and a half journey back to our own County in complete darkness 🌛 I’m going to miss these dark evenings once we’re fully immersed in spring I just know it! It was a truly magical day and I’m so happy that it happened! It was a goodish pain day with it not coming on in the morning/afternoon meaning that I could go in the first place! Days after weren’t so great because of it but were worth it to have these amazing memories to look back on! 😄
Thank you for reading! 😉 I hope you’re having a beautiful day! ❤
