Life is a beautiful thing

I often find myself whispering

“Life is a beautiful thing”

Whether I want to hear it or not

somebody feels I need to

no if or but.

A simple statement

can be complex but there’s no need.

As I think through each day

it finds a way.

I will hold a book near

hold back a tear

and a smile will linger

As to those words I cling

“Life is a beautiful thing”
