Tapas evening! πŸ‡πŸ·

Hi everyone! How was your weekend? Yesterday my sister made/bought a selection of foods for dinner as she had planned a tapas evening for all the family to enjoy. A couple of weeks back she went to a restaurant that specialized in assorted tapas snacks/appetizers and so had an idea of what this dinner would include. It is difficult to plan a meal in our house that the entire family will eat (and is free from everything πŸ˜‚) as we all have different things we can’t have and so a selection of various things that catered to all of our needs was a brilliant idea and also meant that we could all eat at the same time together which was so much fun! Here’s what we had! (Picture me telling everyone to steer clear of the table until I had captured this memory before we all dug in! πŸ˜‚).

It was all so good! Different flavoured chicken, sausages, Yorkshire pudding (which didn’t fit with the theme but was a must for us all πŸ˜‚), various hams, grapes, tortillas, sauces, pastries and cheese. I cannot tell you how much I’ve missed cheese!! πŸ˜‚ My sister found an alternative that tastes like the real thing and although I’ve been away from cheese for ages and so surprisingly wouldn’t go mad on it (because I just remember how the taste brings on a flare-up and it has put me off it a bit which is a good thing if I can’t have it anyway πŸ˜‚). I loved having it with grapes and ham and I even tried it with an olive! (I’m getting adventurous! πŸ˜‚ It was sweeter than I imagined as I’ve avoided them but not bad at all!). It was a lovely meal devoid of dairy, gluten and sugar that was gone in a matter of minutes as we had been banished from the kitchen while it was being prepared so were starving, it went down a treat! πŸ˜‹ Especially with a dessert my mum made to get rid of the leftover pumpkin from Halloween πŸ˜‚ a cinnamon infused pumpkin, walnut and pear pudding that was so light and very autumnal.

Thank you for reading! πŸ˜‰πŸ’— Have you ever held a themed food night before or wanted to? Have a lovely day!
