Hi everyone! I hope you are having a beautiful day so far! I’m loving all of the seasonal blog posts there are to relax back and read at the moment π€β (knowing I can like and come back to them later is honestly what gets me through studying at the moment! π). I have been thinking about the things I would like to do this autumn (since I had so much fun setting myself goals for my summer HERE and revisiting them after HERE!) and I can’t wait to share them with you and then revisit them at the end of the season again (but let’s not talk about the end when it is only just beginning! π). I have kept this bucket list fairly simple so that I now feel like I have a chance at getting to do some of the things I want to do and they’re not just put down for the sake of it! So here it goes!
Pick blackberries in the garden! π
All going along the part of our garden on the side of our house blackberries are growing like mad! I didn’t realize they were the kind to eat until at my friend’s house we picked them in the summer and made delicious smoothies! πΉ My plan is to go out one day and just let our older dog, Ruby, run free whilst I gather them! (Ruby our Labrador retriever stays with me and almost looks out for me whereas Toby (our cavachon) would think he’s hit the jackpot and escape π). I don’t think I will make a smoothie out of the berries this time π€ I might make some kind of crumble substituting them into the recipe I shared with you HERE earlier this year π (I will be sure to tell you all about it if I do!). Earlier this week I went outside and saw that the majority of the berries have dried out in the new weather but there are still a lot of fresh ones so hopefully I can salvage them and put them to some good use!
Have my dad’s pumpkin and saltfish dish! ππ
This is my favourite meal ever! It has been passed down through generations in my dad’s family and can also be made with butternut squash (which I had last month! ππ) but is perfection with pumpkin! We grew up eating it with buttered crackers so that there are sweet, salty and a spicy flavours all complimenting each other but last year I started eating it with buttered digestives π and I haven’t looked back! It may sound weird but you can’t knock something unless you’ve tried it! And you wouldn’t be disappointed! π
Get fluffy socks and a blanket π€
I’m really looking forward to being able to wear socks to bed again ππ I know you’reβ supposed to not wear them whilst you sleep at all or something like that but I’mβ always on edge thinking someone’s going to tickle my feet if they’re not covered π fluffy socks seem like the perfect choice as they won’t be tight and won’t stop circulation (hope not anyway as I forget how this weather affects my Raynaud’s π¬π). My sister got a Harry Potter blanket from a friend for her birthday and she looks so cosy snuggled up on the sofa with it so instead of stealing it π I think I might treat myself to one (Wiser than theft! π) and relax back in the evenings with a mug of hot chocolate! πβ
Bundle up in some warm clothes and go in the garden/for walks up the road!
This was one of my summer goals and I feel like I will put it on all of my future bucket lists because it’s something I know I enjoy doing if I pace myself π I have had the urge to do a bit of gardening lately starting with filling two flower pots at the front of our house so as to brighten up the place. At the moment there is a storm that is supposed to get worse so fingers crossed I get to do this!
Carve a pumpkin! + Plant the seeds!
Last year my sister carved our pumpkin and it looked INCREDIBLE! Maybe this year we can buy two pumpkins (the insides don’t go to waste with my dad’s recipe anyway π) and we could have some sort of a competition! Then we can plant the seeds in marshy land outside and forget about them (then it will be a surprise if they do grow! π).
Do new things!
This can mean getting out to do stuff or being at home with family/friends as long as I’m using my time wisely when possible and making memories!
Tidy my room
The last time I told you I had to tidy my room I did it I swear! π But then I went on holiday and when I got back my suitcase kind off exploded, there was not a place for anything really ππ I have made a start on choosing things to give away to charity shops and already I can see that once this stuff is cleared out my room will be restored to as much of it’s former glory as possible without binning everything π Autumn seemed like as good a time as any to do this as with the leaves falling out of the trees it’s almost like everything is preparing a clean slate for the coming seasons so why not bring that positivity inside?…it will be tested by the mess that’s for sure! π
Thank you for reading! ππ I will come back to this post at the end of autumn to see how I got on! π¬π What is on your Autumn bucket list? Have a lovely day!
I love to curl up with a fluffy blanket with a book and a Mocha! Also, your dad’s fish dish sounds delicious =)

Love your bucket list! I might have to add a couple to mine! We usually carve many pumpkins and we roast the seeds, but I love the idea of planting them. I may take a handful and try that this year!

Thank you so much! They must taste so nice roasted π if you are having a go at planting them I will definitely try my luck roasting them and hopefully not burn them ππ

π Iβm sure you can make them beautifully! Last year we made them seasoned with cinnamon and sugar. This year Iβm going for salty, like ranch or a bbq flavor.

I like the sound of cinnamon and sugar ones! Will go through our spice rack and hope I come away with something edible π
