Proud To Be Human

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Last night I (alongside many around the globe) watched the One Love Manchester benefit concert that took place in the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester in honour of the recent attacks in the UK. Put together by Ariana Grande, the show was incredible with some of the biggest names in music performing. I was left with these four words…Proud to be human. I am proud to be a part of life as we stand together with love holding us up. No hate is let in as we do not know the true meaning of the word. We are the real humans. The ones that care for those we do not even know, have never met and probably never will.

We feel and have hearts in our souls, not only as a word used to describe an organ. The music last night was the kind that was delivered with meaning and purpose sending shivers down our spines and through our heads that left us aware of what it means to love. Thinking of things happening like this all over the world, it hurts that it took an attack at a concert for it to start being taken seriously…that it was not exactly allowed to go this far but that it has taken time for a stand to be publicized.

Last night I felt like I witnessed a historic event. The nice kind with the sole intention of staying strong and proving that we can show love to people who are not as unknown to us as we may think as the good in us is all one. One that overpowers all the bad and hatred in the world that will always fail to prevail. I have never been more proud to say anything but, I am human. Some may think, what is the alternative? Alien? πŸ˜‚ No! Anything that does not have even the smallest amount of love and compassion within it cannot be considered human. The world is getting to be a scary place, but that is just it, it will be “getting there” for a while because we will not let it win. Become the norm.

Sending love and prayers to everyone affected by these attacks and acknowledging the barrier that is us, (it is sometimes invisible but just because love is not seen half the time it doesn’t mean it’s non-existent) holding hands and standing together, never giving up and proud to be human!
